The “Crazy Man” (Loco Hombre) was once Baltimore’s most sophisticated Mexican restaurant, the one that proved that fine dining and Mex weren’t mutually exclusive. In its latest incarnation, though, Loco Hombre has gone casual. Mexican food is still a focus, but think fajitas, nachos and burritos instead of serrano pepper-encrusted filet of salmon “painted” with crème fraîche. A variety of fresh-dough pizzas and burgers---including the inescapable sliders---rule here, but there are a few entrées, including a jumbo lump crab cake platter and veal medallions with rosemary polenta and a balsamic reduction, for those in search of somewhat more highfalutin fare.
