THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Lola Bistro & Wine Bar Restaurant Review:

Lola has remained very funky-chic and hip over the years. Owner Michael Symon, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New York, has had a long love affair with food. He characterizes his cuisine as stylized comfort food. Appetizers range from a wonderful cold smoked duck with pine nuts and citrus reduction, to rabbit strudel to macaroni and cheese with roasted chicken and goat cheese. Entrées include buttermilk fried chicken stuffed with wild mushrooms and spinach; turf & turf, beef medallions and braised short ribs with citrus onions, whipped blue cheese and fries; and roasted lamb loin with eggplant-lamb pastitsio and red pepper sauce. But his specialty is seafood and he loves sushi. Lola features one of Cleveland's few raw bars, with baby octopus salad and smoked salmon with potato cake, among other choices. Lola's décor is ultra-modern---plenty of brushed metal and unusual shades of wood. The wine list is extensive, with more than twenty vintages available by the glass.
