Lolo's Seafood Shack Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: With its steel pan music and reggae, outdoor seafood shack setting and island-favorite menu, Lolo’s Seafood Shack is a kitschy pan-Caribbean spot for NYC casual dining. You’ll swear you can hear the ocean even though you’re sitting in the backyard of a crowded Harlem residential street.

Likes: The restaurant feels like it was plucked directly from the Caribbean.
Dislikes: None.

Food & Drinks: You’ll be given gloves to protect your fingers as you dig into crawfish or Alaska snow king crabs, with a bib at the ready to protect your clothes. Salted conch fritters are more finger food, with an array of sauces available ranging from mild to hot. The restaurant bills itself as Cape Cod-influenced as well, and you’ll want to select one of the New England seafood steampots to test how well they do; for us, the menu feels much more island. For the carnivores (and they’ll still want to wear that bib), Lolo’s smoked Mayan-influenced chicken wings add some heat. Red Stripe beer and wine complement the fare.
