Mexican and Tex-Mex culinary classics draw customers to Los Bravos, a long-established local chain. Elements of Mexican decorative aesthetic, from colors to ceramics, keep faith with the culture. Complement the house-made tortilla chips with fresh-tasting guacamole. Fajitas --- with onions, bell peppers and tomatoes --- come with refried beans, rice and salad. The shrimp version is a standout, while another rendition features tender, flavorful steak. For another dollar, get them made with carnitas. We also like the burrito verde, a plump wrap enfolding shredded pork accompanied by rice and refried beans. Enchiladas, served with the same sides, also are satisfying. The many vegetarian options include well-seasoned beans. For dessert, there's flan, although it can be hit or miss, and sopaipilla.
