Lucca Restaurant Review: Lucca has remained a staple in the midtown dining scene despite the onslaught of newer, glitzier restaurants nearby. With reasonable prices and friendly service, it's a good bet for celebratory meals, its cozy outdoor patio a draw even in the winter. Starters include paper-thin, addictive fried zucchini chips, as well as skillet roasted mussels and white corn polenta. Among mains are ricotta gnocchi bolognese, pan-roasted salmon and crispy duck confit. For dessert, consider a huckleberry bread pudding, caramelized bananas and chèvre cheesecake. The wine list has several selections from California and Italy, while a handful of specialty cocktails are also on the menu.
