Seating 400-plus diners in a replicated brick-walled Southern home relocated to The District adjoining Green Valley Ranch casino, this Southern California-based eatery is renowned for its savory ribs. Each room has its own ambience, from the dining rooms and enclosed patios to the bar with its counter and bar-style tables and chairs. The huge appetizer platter includes the favorites: pork rib tips, fried dill pickles, onion straws, fried green tomatoes, Dixie egg rolls, chicken strips and a tri-tip quesadilla. Among sandwiches is the half-pound smokehouse barbecue burger, served with two sides from a long list that includes honey-roasted peanut slaw and macaroni and cheese. Among appealing specialties are a smoked, breaded pork chop smothered with gravy and served with garlic mashed potatoes and a vegetable medley. The ribs---baby-backs, St. Louis spare ribs, barbecue beef ribs and imaginative combination platters---are slowly smoked with hickory wood. Wash down the hearty fare with Barq’s root beer, sweet iced tea or Lucille’s strawberry lemonade served in Mason jars. Save room for Chris' bread pudding created with sourdough bread, peaches, Southern pecans and sweet custard served with warm bourbon sauce.
