In a sea of taquerias, cheap sushi, and coffeehouses, The Lunch Club & General Store offers hungry Missionites a place to get quality comfort food standards at lower prices than those snazzy beet-and-goat cheese salad standbys. A walk up to the counter reveals a few café tables, shelves of gourmet dry goods and a pastry case lined with attractive accompaniments to any espresso drink. Further along, platters of grilled vegetables, roasted beets and white bean salad await being paired with entrées like wine-braised short ribs, macaroni and cheese or the savory tart of the day, like bacon, grilled onion and sweet cherry tomatoes. Sandwiches, salads and vegan soups round out the menu.
