Madras Pavilion Restaurant Review: Specializing in the cuisine of Southern India, Madras Pavilion is most notable for two things: a bountiful vegetarian lunch buffet and, among items on that buffet, the unique dosai, a rice-and-lentil crêpe with your choice of filling. Fragrant curries, tender okra, tamarind rice and onion chutney are a few of the buffet offerings. Another South Indian specialty worth trying is the pizza-like vegetable uthappam, spicy and covered in onions, peas, carrots, tomatoes and chilies. Evening meals from the menu are worthy, too---order the family-sized dosai, almost four-feet-long; it will span the length of the table. The service is friendly and attentive. Madras is one of the city's all-vegetarian restaurants---and kosher, too.
