Step back in time to the days when all Italian sauces were red and portions were “abbondanza.” This handsome restaurant, directly across from the Marriott and adjacent to the Convention Center, evokes the ambience of Little Italy and its red and white checkered tablecloths. The food is straightforward and ample, with all the Italian specialties that have become guilty pleasures in our waist-watching society: good calamari fritti, onion rings, lasagna and special pastas. The nicely prepared veal chop is served with Italian sausage, potatoes, roasted peppers, onions and tomatoes. Order the fish of the day or the lemony chicken piccata over spinach for something on the lighter side. Portions are huge, sharing is encouraged and it's a good place to take the family. You won't believe the size of the meatballs.
