THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Maijean Restaurant Review:

Nadia Tilkian opened this dramatic Art Nouveau-style dining room in downtown Clarendon Hills, and now a restaurant "scene" is beginning to take shape. Swirls of wood and cobalt colors set a theatrical, romantic tone for fare that varies from bistro mainstays (coq au vin, escargots) to avant-artsy preparations and enough smaller plates to make it good for group dining. We suggest the seasonally inspired dishes in particular. The fresh tomato soup is so vivid---in flavor and color---that it seems just-plucked, and the halibut with sweet, yet biting, thyme vinaigrette is a dish that is hard to forget. Steak frites, onion-crisp-topped liver with warm bacon-balsamic vinaigrette and pork tenderloin with a changing sauce are among the other choices. Champagne-poached peaches can be a refreshing finale.
