| Vegas in La Jolla? Manhattan in the Empress Hotel is a Rat Pack kind of place---the sort of restaurant where you see suit-clad men wining and dining pretty ladies, and tuxedoed waiters serving Caesar salads tableside. Ol’ blue eyes himself can be heard on the classic soundtrack while you choose between a variety of steaks and Italian specialties. The menu includes hearty pastas, tasty pasta i fagioli, a serious veal chop and the memorable tiramisu. Manhattan seems to be a favorite spot for anniversaries and engagements, perhaps due to the dim and romantic lighting, but anyone in search of privacy, a good steak or both will enjoy. |
