| Margaret Kuo, a queen of Chinese cuisine in the suburbs for many years, has created an elegant showplace for her Shanghai cooking, which includes a notable Peking duck. There is also a separate sushi room, and an international wine list with many selections by the glass. Try one of the first-rate sakés, including the crisp Iyo Densetsu. For more adventurous diners, Kuo serves a special weekend menu during the day to those in the know. Shanghai cuisine from the Yangtze River Delta might include dishes such as salted duck tongues, steamed soup buns, and spare ribs Wuxi-style, roasted in a sauce popular in that lakefront city. A Chinese New Year's feast is an annual multi-course event, served from mid December through February. On Mondays and Tuesdays, receive 25 percent off wine or BYO. |
