Maria's New Mexican Kitchen Restaurant Review: Rich or poor, tourist or local, young or old, everybody eventually goes to Maria's. On a busy Friday or Saturday night, the restaurant is wall-to-wall humanity, everyone waiting for the full-flavored New Mexican food. The carne adovada is rich, spicy and fork-tender; we also like the blue corn chicken enchiladas with red chile. When we're in the mood for something a bit lighter, we opt for a bowl of green chile stew, full of pork, potatoes and lots of green chile. Add a hot, freshly made tortilla or an order of sopaipillas and you have a very satisfying meal. While the food is accomplished, the margaritas put this little restaurant on the map. Maria's offers more than 200 varieties, and they're so popular that many people overlook the noteworthy wine list, the pride of wine connoisseur owners Al and Laurie Lucero and a rarity in New Mexican restaurants.
