Mark's Feed Store Restaurant Review: Decades ago, the original location of Mark's Feed Store in Middletown was indeed a farm supply store. This outpost occupies a historic brick building dating to the early 20th century and is decorated with archival photographs of the area. Humans are the happy eaters at Mark’s today, tucking into big sandwiches of tender, smoked pork, chicken and beef. The restaurant’s just-spicy-enough mustard-based barbecue sauce dresses them well. (Bottles are on all the tables.) Big racks of pork ribs are pre-sauced, but not overly so. Tender, tangy potato salad and pork-seasoned green beans are recommended sides. Beware: Fried onion straws are addictive. Don't miss Mark’s thick, savory burgoo, a Kentucky stew loaded with meats and vegetables. Soft serve ice cream and homemade buttermilk pie are perfect sweet endings. Virtually everything on the menu is available in bulk for take-out. Service is swift and friendly. Expect to be addressed as “Hon.” Beer and wine are available, but no spirits. Other locations.
