THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mark's at the Park Restaurant Review:

Dramatic oversize booths and light wood tones provide a high-profile image to this power dining spot. The noise lends an air of excitement, offset by the soothing sound of a Chinese waterfall. Chef-restaurateur Mark Militello opened this glamorous spot in 1998, bringing his Midas touch to Boca Raton. He's one of the chefs credited with having launched the Floribbean movement in cooking, incorporating fresh local ingredients with classical techniques. He started with local restaurateur Dennis Max at Café Maxx, became co-owner of Max's Place (renamed Mark's Place and now closed) in North Miami Beach, then opened Mark's Las Olas. Militello owns and operates Mark's City Place. Here, the chef's table is counter seating for seven lucky diners to watch chefs at work in the small open kitchen. The repertoire includes jumbo lump crab cakes with a watercress-jicama salad; wild mushroom risotto with pancetta; an oak-grilled veal chop with potato gratin; and designer pizzas. Mascarpone-stuffed brioche french toast and a Maine lobster omelet are among brunch offerings. An educated wine list tempts oenophiles, who may also choose from broad, by-the-glass options.
