| With a look not unlike a Brooklyn soda shop that migrated to the Hamptons, this hot dog shop elevates the lowly dog to Beverly Hills chic. Marty D’s menu centers around two items: Kosher all-beef franks and spicy chicken sausages, both grilled, eight-inch meaty masterpieces on sesame seed buns. The chicken dog lives up to its spicy description, but is almost overwhelming when topped with the recommended spicy mustard. The beef version is salty and straightforward, the sort of fresh dog that makes a “pop” when you take the first bite. Topped with the complimentary sauerkraut, grilled peppers, onions and dill pickle spear, it truly takes a beef frank all the way to gourmet---as it should at a whopping $7.95 per weiner! Desserts are a highlight, featuring sundaes made from Dandy Don’s ice cream and topped with hot fudge, marshmallow or butterscotch under whipped cream and nuts. The shop also offers satisfying shakes, malts, egg creams and floats. |
