In a sedate room off the lobby of The Rittenhouse Hotel, and adjacent, through Palladian doors, to a trellised garden, at least seven different tea sandwiches are offered with a variety of teas. There are pastries too, but the fresh scones with whipped cream and jam will win out every time. And if you're in need of something stronger, cocktails, bubbly and a nice Sandeman sherry will fortify. |
