Masa Restaurant Review

: A fashionable Back Bay crowd flocks to Southwestern staple Masa for its $1 tapas bar menu (half-price from 5 p.m.-7 p.m.). Portions are hearty and the menu is wide-ranging. We particularly recommend the barbecue mac ā€˜n’ cheese with onions, chorizo and garlic (though we don't recommend ordering it on a date night). Other favorites include chicken taquitos and habanero meatballs. The softly-lit dining room features pricier plates---don't miss the spicy ahi cabo rolls. A wake-up-your-palate weekend brunch, meanwhile, offers the opportunity to sample unusual treats like stuffed Mexican omelets and Southwestern-style eggs Benedict, topped with a dreamy avocado hollandaise. And bring your dancing shoes on Thursday nights: salsa lessons are offered beginning at 9 p.m., fueled by potent libations like the killer hibiscus caipirinha.
