Mastro's Steakhouse Restaurant Review: Carnivores will be in their element at this elegant retreat, where Prime, hand-cut steaks are seasoned with a dry rub and served on sizzling 400-degree plates. Be sure to arrive famished because the portions are more than generous. The bone-in filet, with a choice of a 12- or 18-ounce cut, is a fine example of what this place does best. A double-cut porterhouse, meanwhile, weighs in at 48 ounces and can easily be shared by three, if not four, people. Side the beef with mashed potatoes, served family-style, their creamy, buttery texture offset with chunks of lobster. Plenty of appetizers, salads, soups and seafood are available, too. Among desserts, we suggest the warm butter cake that lives up to its name. In addition to handcrafted cocktails, the wine list includes 500 labels and more than 50 varietals offered by the glass. Plan to bring home leftovers for the next day.
