The Matador Restaurant Review: With its sexy vibe and intimate low lighting, you wouldn’t guess this lounge-restaurant was part of a local chain. The menu offers inventive Tex-Mex dishes and first-rate cocktails. Starters are sharable, such as the grilled, stuffed jalapeño peppers; mushrooms sautéed in white wine and chipotle-garlic butter; and butternut squash quesadillas filled with caramelized onions and goat cheese. Braised pork shoulder and enchiladas verdes are popular entrées. For a sweet finale, don't miss the molten chocolate cake with vanilla bean ice cream and a rum-caramel sauce. The dimly lit bar --- check out the tequila selection --- is a welcome destination for a quick after-work drink. Summertime sidewalk seating extends the good vibes. |
