Matsulin Restaurant Review: This unassuming Hampton Bays Pan-Asian spot attracts a loyal clientele with its sushi bar and wok dishes. Try the Thai coconut shrimp or Japanese pork gyoza as an appetizer. Pad thai doesn't disappoint, and the Japanese salmon teriyaki deviates from the norm by replacing the usual too-sweet sauce with a more savory version. Diners will be delighted by Asian cuisines not often featured on restaurant menus, seen in the Malaysian Roti Canai, a curry chicken scallion pancake, or Singaporean spicy long beans with preserved vegetables. The sushi bar offers all the usual suspects, as well as some special rolls including the Volcano: spicy yellowtail and a wasabi and tobiko topping. Wash it all down with saké or a Japanese beer to complete your culinary travels.
