| After hours of power shopping, McCormick & Schmick’s is the ideal spot for a respite---maybe a crisp martini and raw Blue Point oysters at the bar, or an al fresco seat for fresh seafood that arrives each day. Or if you’re ready to gossip with a gal pal or snuggle with your significant other, ask for one of the cozy booths on the perimeter of the dining room (you can pull the velvet curtain for privacy). With more than a dozen types of seafood, from oysters to swordfish, it’s easy to suit your fancy. And we like that the menus (printed twice daily) tell you exactly where the fish is from: mahi from Costa Rica, scallops from Massachusetts, blue crab from Mexico, flounder from New Jersey. A section devoted to wild seafood changes with the seasons. If you prefer meat, there’s always a filet or New York strip. Friendly servers and the ambience of an old-fashioned restaurant---dim lighting, dark woods, white linens---create a real getaway from the hustle and bustle of the glitzy mall. |
