McCormick & Schmick's Restaurant Review: The downtown branch of this upscale national seafood chain has one of the liveliest after-work bar scenes in town. Its velvet-curtained private booths make it a popular spot for business lunches and evening assignations. There are usually about 30 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available. Look for some unusual fish selections, like South African swordfish or Louisiana black drum, plus oysters and clams. We advise ordering the simplest preparations: oysters and clams on the half shell, Dungeness crab when it’s offered, or grilled fish with lemon butter. At lunch, try the fish tacos or salmon rigatoni; at dinner, kick it up a notch with Parmesan-crusted flounder. Close any meal with the flourless chocolate truffle cake, the restaurant’s signature dessert.
