| It is rare to find a restaurant that successfully combines first-rate food and a hip, modern style and ambience. At Med Bar + Grill, this combination is realized. Located along a strip of St. Laurent where trendy restaurants abound, the spot stands out for many reasons: friendly and efficient service, a young and vibrant clientele, modern décor in eye-pleasing tones and, above all, a satisfying menu. The kitchen serves a delightful fusion of European and Asian cuisines: an elegant choice of pasta dishes (the goat cheese gnocchi is a hit), tenderly cooked meats (a recommended veal chop with arugula and Parmesan), and seafood (who knew jumbo shrimp and giant lima beans would go so well together). And then comes the after-meal experience: as you finish off the chocolate whisky mousse with truffles (one of several fine desserts offered), most of the tables are removed from the main floor and more of Montreal’s beautiful people are let in as Med Bar transforms into a vibrant club. |
