Happy yellow on the outside and rustic country on the inside, Meltemi, a neighborhood Greek taverna, is always crowded and bustling. As you enter, a refrigerated case---packed with fresh whole fish---gives a hint of what's to come. Choose a perfectly grilled whole fish such as porgy, red snapper, grouper or red mullet seasoned with virgin olive oil, lemon and herbs. Meltemi, which means sea breeze, also shines when it comes to shrimp, prepared several ways with tomatoes, basil and feta. Of course, it wouldn't be a Greek restaurant without lamb youvetsi, and we love Meltemi's own, flavorfully seasoned and baked in a clay pot which seals in the tomato, garlic and orzo. If you have any room left, top off the meal with flaky and rich homemade baklava.
