At this lively fondue restaurant, located at the gateway into Bricktown in the former Oklahoma City police station, the urban décor belies its origin. But if your semi-private room, containing only two booths, seems unusually cozy, imagine what it was like to be confined in one of the former holding cells. You'll likely forget about all of that, however, at least while a knowledgeable waitperson guides you through choosing a cheese, broth and protein before preparing your fondue tableside. Use the color-coded, spear-like forks to dip vegetables, bread and apples into the warm, creamy cheese; the cheddar beer option pairs well with all of the dipping goodies. What follows are more vegetables and bite-size nubs of raw, seasoned meat, along with a bubbling broth and cooking directions. Our favorite is the chicken dipped in yogurt curry, or pork tenderloin paired with teriyaki. A separate dessert menu includes several chocolate concoctions for swirling fruit, marshmallows, cheesecake, brownies, and even Rice Krispies treats. We like the "yin and yang" fondue, a blend of white and dark chocolate. The Melting Pot offers a large selection of sparkling wines and Champagne, along with hundreds of reds and whites at varying price points from several regions. Or, try one of the signature dessert martinis to sip and dip the night away with friends.
