The Melting Pot Restaurant Review

: The Melting Pot refers not only to the diners from all walks of life that converge here, but also to the restaurant’s signature dish: fondue. Comfortable booths and banquettes and water gently cascading over decorative glass paneling in the softly lit dining room help create a casually romantic feel. If the atmosphere isn’t enough to set the stage for romance, sharing a pot of warm fondue certainly will. And share you must, because the fondues are designed for two or more, so don't come alone (the restaurant does offer a limited number of individual New American entrées). The traditional Alpine cheese fondue is indicative of the Swiss varieties customarily enjoyed after a day on the slopes and combines white wine and garlic with aged Gruyère, Raclette and Fontina, a dash of fresh lemon juice and nutmeg. There is also a sweet side to fondue and pots of "flaming turtle," a combination of milk chocolate, caramel and candied pecans flambéed at the table. The wine list has several affordable selections by the glass.
