Memphis Mae's BBQ Bistro Restaurant Review

: Memphis Mae’s BBQ Bistro in the unlikely Westchester town of Croton-on-Hudson fires up the pit (not to mention the wood smokers) for its smoked, grilled, barbecued or blackened seafood, fish, chicken, beef and pork. The eatery brings together barbecue techniques from the Midwest to the South, using a slow cook-low heat method to seal in flavor and to achieve that “meat falling off the bone” tenderness. To start, try Memphis Mae's pork version of the traditional Buffalo wings, wings made with house-smoked pork shanks served with your choice of dipping sauce, or the Memphis pasties, inspired by the version across the pond. These house-made pastry pockets are filled with barbecue meat or sautéed vegetables. Give in to the Idaho Saddlebags, an Idaho potato stuffed with chopped Texas brisket, for a day's worth of food. Also worth a try are the crispy catfish fingers. Memphis-style ribs served wet with a side of hoppin’ john rice and drunken yams, or the Carolina pulled pork, smoked overnight, accommodate larger appetites. The restaurant also has a beer list to help wash down all that meat and barbecue.
