Memphis Mae's BBQ Bistro Restaurant Review

: Memphis Mae’s BBQ Bistro in the unlikely Westchester town of Croton-on-Hudson fires up the pit (not to mention the wood smokers) for its smoked, grilled, barbecued or blackened seafood, fish, chicken, beef and pork. The eatery brings together barbecue techniques from the Midwest to the South, using a slow cook-low heat method to seal in flavor and to achieve that “meat falling off the bone” tenderness. To start, try Memphis Mae's pork version of the traditional Buffalo wings served with your choice of dipping sauce. Give in to the Idaho Saddlebags, a potato stuffed with chopped Texas brisket, for a day's worth of food. Also worth a try are the Memphis pasties, borrowed from recipes across the pond, consisting of pastry pockets filled with barbecue meat or sautéed vegetables. Memphis-style ribs served wet with a side of hoppin’ john rice and drunken yams, or the Carolina pulled pork, smoked overnight, accommodate larger appetites. The restaurant presents a beer list to help wash down all the barbecue.
