44 1/2 Restaurant Review:
This slim, cheery restaurant, a sibling of 44 & X, is staffed with servers wearing cheeky tight pink T-shirts. Martinis from an extensive list also have a pink bent, so ordering a cosmo might not be a bad idea, though wines by the glass are reasonably priced. Crispy duck ravioli or tuna tartare paired with avocado mousse and pickled ginger can precede thin-crust pizzas, ideal for sharing, perhaps topped with roasted vegetables or lobster with Parmesan and olive oil. Seafood dishes range from tilapia to horseradish-crusted salmon. Desserts are a bit retro, for example, pineapple upside-down cake or old-fashioned pecan pie.
