About the décor: Acropolis Cuisine is a tiny Mediterranean outpost on one of the most highly-traveled roads in Metairie. Although the décor is minimalistic, the place still has a cozy, inviting ambience.

Food & Drinks: The restaurant has an appropriate atmosphere in which to enjoy such traditional dishes as roasted and skewered meats, daily fish specials and avgolemono, the classic Greek egg-and-lemon soup. Grape leaves stuffed with rice and marinated in lemon juice and olive oil remain admirably firm, and an unusually creamy feta cheese crowns salads that are large enough to feed a Greek chorus. Precede all of it with one of the most authentically prepared baba ghanouj appetizers you may ever taste. Acropolis produces a lasagna that could hold its own with that found in any Italian restaurant in town, and we also like the pizza and the feta cheese ravioli. For dessert, go for the baklava sundae. The wine list has an interesting variety of Greek labels.
