Dahlia Bakery Restaurant Review:

Tom Douglas’ retail bakery satisfies sweet and savory cravings with baked goods ranging from plump ginger cookies to individual servings of Triple Coconut Cream Pie. In the morning, office workers try the cherry-almond scone or caramel apple brioche, while the health-oriented go for the crunchy house-made granola. At lunchtime, baguette-style sandwiches feature braised pork shoulder with slaw and cracklins; house-cured ham; pâté with jalapeño peppers, cilantro mayo, pickled carrots and daikon; and Alaska cod with cucumbers and tartar sauce. A limited selection of non-alcoholic bottled beverages is also available. In milder months, sidewalk seating turns lunch visits into city picnics.
