Delhi 6 Restaurant Review:
Replacing the now defunct Nilgiris in Frederick, this somewhat opulent restaurant offers a generous daily buffet stocked with an occasional oddball dish. It’s unlikely many local Indian eateries offer a banana curry, which is not much more than pieces of banana in a curry. The kitchen plays with a few of the classics, with such dishes as the Dilli Gate salad composed with organic roasted chicken and vegetables, and golguppe, or flour-based puffs filled with chickpeas and potato. You may also find something appealing on the menu, though the lamb vindaloo, typically a fiery hot Goan dish, is tamed down to blandness. Expect the usual Indian desserts except for a chocolate naan and pastries filled with bananas and cream cheese. Note that the restaurant is named after both an Indian movie and a New Delhi neighborhood.
