Gran Morsi Restaurant Review:

A cozy fit for TriBeCa with its own sense of downtown style, Gran Morsi meets and greets with professional staff and modern Italian fare. The menu offers creative takes on hearty favorites as well as small plates (a.k.a. "morsi") for sharing, though you may find it challenging to part with any of the satisfying and creamy bacalao lobster croquettes. Three choices of Parmigiana preparations steal the show, starting with a not-so-surprising chicken and surpassed by the unusual Muscovy duck breast with Taleggio and lobster fra diavolo served with pecorino Toscano. Pastas, pizzas and plates of branzino and short ribs round out the possibilities. The wine list, curated by nearby New York Vintners, mainly proposes a range of value-oriented Italian, California and European labels, including spumantes by the glass. Be sure to note the two living self-irrigating gardens set into the walls in the back.
