Haven Restaurant Review:

Housed in the bi-level space formerly occupied by Divine, the décor at Haven retains some of the elements of its predecessor---Queen Anne-style armchairs and plush sofas in rich reds and burgundies stand in a setting reminiscent of a turn-of-the-century sitting room. Slightly distressed wood and brick walls, a fireplace and a wooden staircase lead to a second floor made up in similar style. The cuisine, however, is not as inspired as the broad representation would lead one to expect. The trio of Peruvian ceviche, an appetizer portion of salmon with passion fruit, tomato, citrus and octopus, lacks the zing and refreshing fruit flavor the ingredients suggest. The generously filled Szechuan dumplings, however, work well as a starter to complement a number of the wines by the glass as well as the inventive cocktails. Haven won't be your haven for a topnotch meal, but it’s good for lounging over a few glasses of wine and some snacks.
