Jillian's Restaurant Review:

Jillian's, named for owners June and Jay Trubee’s daughter, is housed in a historic 1940s-era hacienda and has tapestry-covered chairs and a collection of antiques that blend nicely with the well-heeled clientele. Jay Trubee is also the chef, and his menu draws from the flavors of Northern Italy, Southern France, and America's Southwest and Eastern seaboard. Pasta, fresh seafood and quality meat entrées are highlights. Favorites include scallops and sweet corn risotto and rack of Colorado lamb in a Dijon herb crust. For dessert, there’s steamed pudding made from locally grown Medjool dates warmed with a whiskey-laced butterscotch sauce and topped with vanilla ice cream. The wine list is lengthy --- Champagne and sparkling wines couple with California, Italian and other French labels. Unlike most restaurants in the desert, where the attire is casual no matter what the setting, Jillian's dress code bills itself as "cocktail," so shorts and the like are strictly taboo.
