THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Josselin's Tapas Bar & Grill Restaurant Review:

Chef Jean-Marie Josselin, who brought Pacific Rim cuisine to Kauai with the now-closed A Pacific Café, continues to impress with this successful Asian-fusion styled tapas restaurant. Sangría, ladled tableside, is delightfully refreshing, and available in distinctive island flavors such as lilikoi and lychee, in season. Local fish and produce, raw ingredients, and the restaurant's kiawe-wood-burning oven are showcased on a lengthy menu that changes regularly. Signature pork bellies, slow roasted until they become melt-in-your-mouth tender, are topped with a spicy apple kimchi. Plump shu mai are well-filled with Kauai shrimp and pork and paired with a zippy eggplant vinaigrette. Other winners are the kabocha pumpkin ravioli, roasted lamb meatballs, tempura green beans with a spicy chili sauce, a duck confit kale salad and a delectable slow-cooked butterfish. A full bar keeps everyone happy. Although a few dishes are just average, the overall experience is sufficiently satisfying that you won't mind a few misses. Unfortunately, the noise level makes it difficult to converse.
