Miyako Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar Restaurant Review:
Miyako has been serving Japanese food to Houstonians since 1979, and this Westheimer Road outpost is the most elegant among the two locations of the chain. The sushi and sashimi menu is extensive and varied with offerings that range from tuna and yellowtail to special rolls like the chef’s Crazy Caterpillar of unagi and shrimp tempura topped with avocado and eel sauce. Patrons who are not seeking raw seafood can always opt for the traditional Japanese steak grilled in Korean barbecue sauce or the beef and chicken teriyaki bento box. Prices are best during happy hour and the reverse happy hour. Try the refreshing green tea crème brûlée for dessert.
