Ohana Restaurant Review:

Celebrate Aloha with the fun of Hawaii, although none of the sun. Decorated with bamboo accents and an abundance of Hawaiian bric-a-brac, the place might just make you forget about the rainy Seattle mainland. For a more intimate meal, ask for a booth, or opt to sit at the long banquette table for an island family feel. Deft bartenders disperse Lava Flows and mai tais, all garnished with umbrellas. The menu includes teriyaki and Japanese favorites, but for a variety of tastes, opt for the pupus. These tantalizing small plates feature homemade barbecue pork and tender crisp cabbage and pork dumplings. Check out spam atop blocks of rice, wrapped with nori and lightly drizzled with an oyster plum sauce. Entrées feature traditional Hawaiian plate dishes, such as the loco moco, a grilled beef patty topped with a fried egg over rice, smothered with brown gravy. Tender pieces of line-caught true cod are panko-battered and fried. Lunch doesn’t feature the same thumping music or stylish bartender, but the sushi menu includes a variety of rolls and bento combinations at low prices.
