Otafuku Restaurant Review:

Otafuku serves up takoyaki, or octopus balls, a popular Japanese street food. A rice-based batter with chunks of octopus is poured into indentations in a contraption that, with much coaxing from the ball maker, wiggles and shakes and eventually produces perfectly round, piping hot balls. They are served five to an order, doused with a mayonnaise sauce and bonito flakes. Otafuku also offers okonomiyaki, scallion and egg pancakes flecked with your choice of squid, pork or corn with scallion, and topped with the shop’s ubiquitous mayonnaise and bonito. Still hungry? Try some yakisoba --- seafood fried noodles. Note: This restaurant was formerly located at 236 E. Ninth St.
