Sprazzo Restaurant Review:

A quaint, storefront space filled with Italian music and warm light, Sprazzo offers the kind of cooking Italian grandmothers pass on to younger generations. The sort of neighborhood space to drop in when you don't feel like cooking, the restaurant specializes in straightforward, simple flavors. The café is known for its gnocchi; an entire page of the menu is dedicated to the pillow-soft pasta in a variety of sauces. We recommend sticking to the bold, bright flavors of pizza, pasta and antipasto items; more complex dishes can be a disappointment. The restaurant's most outstanding feature, the wine list, offers an award-winning selection far superior to many of the city's most sophisticated restaurants. Californian and Italian wine predominate and prices are often little more than retail. For dessert, tiramisu is the clear choice. But after polishing off one of the generous servings of pasta, washed down with a bottle of imported Amarone, you may very well want to skip the temptation.
