THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Steelhead Diner Restaurant Review:

Don't let the name fool you. Steelhead Diner is actually more upscale than its moniker implies. The chrome counter and view of the Market suit patrons just fine. Chef Kevin Davis, who has New Orleans roots, offers roast chicken and Uli's andouille sausage gumbo, fine introductions to dishes that meander from field and stream to vegetables and legumes. For a lunch bite, try the roasted pork leg sandwich topped with Gouda and green peppercorn mayonnaise. For dinner, check out the sautéed Washington sole or a hearty Northwest interpretation of classic French Canadian poutine topped with gravy and cheese curds. Additional standouts include a grilled pork chop, po' boy sandwich, and half a Southern-style fried chicken. The sweet finale? A double fudge ice cream sundae with Snickers ice cream, chocolate drizzles and a fudge brownie, or chocolate pecan pie with whipped cream. There's a full bar, of course, and the thoughtful wine list features an extensive selection of Northwest and California varietals.
