Steelhead Diner Restaurant Review: This lively diner offers comfort food made with market fresh ingredients, served with style. It’s actually more of a hip bistro, with a chrome counter and view of Pike Place Market. Steelhead is owned and operated by chef Kevin Davis and his wife Terresa, who also own and manage Blueacre Seafood. Roast chicken and Uli's andouille sausage gumbo are fine introductions to dishes that meander from field and stream to vegetables and legumes. The roasted pork leg sandwich topped with Gouda and green peppercorn mayonnaise is a terrific lunch bite. For dinner, check out the sautéed Washington sole or a hearty Northwest version of classic French Canadian poutine topped with gravy and cheese curds. Additional standouts include a grilled pork chop, a hearty po' boy sandwich, and half a Southern fried chicken. The sweet final? A double fudge ice cream sundae with Snickers ice cream, chocolate drizzles and a fudge brownie. There's also a full bar, and the thoughtful wine list features an extensive selection of Northwest and California varietals.
