THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tre Piani Restaurant Review:

“Tre Piani” is translated as “three floors.” At this Princeton restaurant, the first level boasts a large outdoor patio and an indoor bistro with a 30-foot vaulted ceiling and a room decorated with fresh plants, French doors and a full service bar. The second floor offers fine dining in a plush setting and the third is for banquets and private parties. Chef Jim Weaver has been the guru of Slow Food in New Jersey for decades, and his menu always reflects locally grown and produced foods. The menu is heavily Italian; mozzarella is made on the premises daily and served with tomatoes, roasted peppers and basil. There is also a healthy number of modern American dishes. An entrée standout is Weaver’s pignolia nut-encrusted sea scallops with a light honey-lemon beurre blanc served with sautéed kale and whipped potatoes. The wine list is vast, and the wine bar a delight. Desserts are creative, making it hard to decide how to end the meal. You can’t go wrong with the lemon ricotta honey cheesecake.
