This is not your traditional pizza place, but a bright and cheerful 232-seat, full-service restaurant owned by cousins, The Pizza Guy and The Other Pizza Guy. John presides over the pizza oven and open kitchen, while Sam runs the dining room and massive bar. Garlic-Romano fries are among tasty appetizers. Lunch favorites include eggplant and chicken Parmesan hero sandwiches. We like the Thompson Street pizza topped with spinach, ricotta and garlic. Regional pizzas range from stuffed Chicago-style to thin, New York "East Side" versions. The tiramisu is prepared in Metro Pizza's bakery inside its Decatur Boulevard location. California and Italian wines complement the fare, plus beers including Metro Family Brews crafted by the nearby brewery inside Ellis Island Casino, which also houses a small Metro Pizza parlor. You'll also find Metro Pizzas located in residential Henderson (702-458-4769) and inside Boulder Station (702-247-1980).
