THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES TO SAN CHEZ CAFÉ. Breakfast at Mezze's revolves around rich coffee drinks and pastries, but this Moroccan restaurant has earned its reputation for offering an authentic Mediterranean lunch and dinner menu and its weekend entertainment. The intimate setting contrasts with its sister restaurant next door, San Chez. But the two have merged menus. If a little noise doesn’t bother you and you like people-watching, head to San Chez; if quiet conversation is more to your liking, this is your place. You’ll find the requisite hummus and baba ghanouj as well as chicken tagine, a highly seasoned preparation with olives, figs, pine nuts and lemon as well as spiced kefta (lamb) meatballs cooked with artichokes, red peppers and lemon. Vegetarians, vegans and those with food allergies will find lots of dishes prepared to their liking. Evening entertainment includes tango and belly dancing, plus salsa for those 21 and over.
