Michael Jordan's Steak House Restaurant Review: Michael Jordan pulled out all the stops at this local “comeback” on the restaurant scene. Swathed in Chicago Bulls red that evokes the legendary team, the restaurant ups the ante with modern lines and lighting, tucked nicely into the ornate, historic InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile. Upon arrival, a lounge-y bar sits to the left of the entrance, while the dining room resides up a dramatic staircase and across a narrow, lighted catwalk. Most starters are steakhouse requisites --- shrimp cocktail, a spendy seafood tower --- augmented by signature items, like a stack of garlic bread that’s finished with oozy blue cheese fondue. All pair well with strong, dry martinis, plus a host of other handcrafted cocktails. Then, there are the steaks, among them a dry-aged, bone-in filet that's crusty on the outside and tender within. We also like the unique prime rib presentation, its extra-long rib bone left intact for the carnivorous. Non-red meat-seekers can revel in the fact that fresh seafood and even chicken --- fried in blue corn chips and topped with fried eggs and maple-glazed bacon --- aren't afterthoughts. Come dessert time, don’t miss the 23-layer chocolate cake, a behemoth treat.
