Home brewers founded Milwaukee Ale House at this prime spot along the Milwaukee River and tucked it into a brick-and-timber warehouse. Its two-level patio is considered one of the finest spots in town to linger over a hand-crafted beer. Seven of the full-bodied ales and lagers---from Weiss to Sheepshead Stout---are available year-round while others, like Celtic Red, are seasonal. Pair a pint with a zippy starter like macaroni and cheese bites, or ease into a mellow dish like stout pot roast, served with a side of vegetables. On select nights, listen to live music representing blues, Southern rock, funk and jazz. Have a boat? Simply cruise into one of the restaurant’s six public slips.
