THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mingalone Restaurant Review:
Mingalone Italian Bar & Grill has a staid downtown location in the Bayou Place entertainment complex, perfect for viewing street life from a sidewalk table. Inside, an elegant yet cavernous Mediterranean ambience makes for a quieter dining experience, but it's no less inviting. Light snacks and lunches include bruschetta Toscana, grilled bread topped with fresh tomato, basil and garlic; pizzas from the wood-burning oven, topped with a variety of authentic ingredients; and panini made with thick, dense Italian bread. But most who visit Mingalone do so for the entrées, a simple assortment of pastas, meats, poultry and seafood. The grilled rainbow trout is topped with a lemon-caper sauce, while the salmon features portobello mushrooms and a balsamic glaze. Pasta winners include the fettuccine Montesano, with jumbo shrimp and scallops in a basil cream sauce; and butternut squash ravioli with sage-white wine sauce.
