Mission Lakes Country Club Restaurant Restaurant Review

: Desert Hot Springs has never been a hub for the culinary arts. Then came the Mission Lakes Country Club and the arrival of executive chef Becky Hill to fill that void. The food is country club cuisine, as chef Hill would be the first to point out, so it's not cutting-edge gourmet. But Hill's background as sous chef at two valley restaurants, Citron and Beefsteak, ensures the delivery of a good meal in an elegant setting. The menu mimics what's in season, and she'll test the taste of loyal locals with an unexpected and unannounced dish to her lineup of mainstays. Scallops with a lemon vinaigrette sauce are among her specialties. The setting, with views that stretch across the arid terrain, provides a nice backdrop to any meal.
