| There is very little ambience in this simple storefront eatery, but anyone looking for reliably good and authentic northern Indian dishes will find them here. The appetizers include, along with the expected samosas, a garlic cauliflower with a sweet-and-sour sauce that properly titillates the taste buds. For those who crave heat, any of the vindaloos are a good entrée choice, while a lamb korma with cashews and almonds offers milder and deeper pleasures. The large vegetarian menu includes a subtle and complex navratan korma, with nine vegetables and fruits, that once tasted would tempt even the most implacable carnivore. The bhindi puts a beautiful sear on okra that adds a pleasing extra taste layer to the dish. The syrupy cheese balls are an addictive dessert. Lunch can suffer from the buffet blues, but dinner won't disappoint. |
